Kia has just unveiled the all-new Sorento, this is the fourth generation of the flagship SUV. Kia has raised standards of space, efficiency and quality in the midsize SUV category.
The exterior has been given a sharper look, high-tech details and a larger footprint. The interior has premium materials and a brand new infotainment system.
Kia has a new generation midsize SUV platform, which, the all-new Sorento is the first vehicle to use this base. Having a bigger body gives the Sorento more space in the boot as well as in the cabin, creating plenty of space even when the third row of seats is in use.
Kia has introduced their new “Smartstream” electrified powertrains, this will be the first time the Sorento will be available as a hybrid. The hybrid version benefits from; improved fuel economy, less emissions and greater performance.
The all-new Sorento is the most technologically advanced car Kia has ever produced, it has; progressive connectivity, driver assistance and infotainment technology. It also features twin digital display with advanced graphics, telematic features and smartphone connectivity.
Designers have retained the tough nature of the previous generations while adding more refinement and sportiness. The edgier panels give a more modern look, making it more desirable than ever before.
The digital instrument panel features a 12.3” display and combines with a 10.25” touchscreen infotainment system which sits in the middle of the dashboard. Most of the car's functions can be controlled with new haptic buttons which are placed at either side of the screen.
The “Smartstream” electric powertrain consists of a 1.6-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.49kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack with a 44.2kW electric motor. It produces 230ps and 350Nm of torque, giving great performance with low CO2 emissions.
The all-new Sorento will go on sale in Europe from Q3 2020.
