This week saw the release of the 2021 Golf GTI Clubsport and Golf R both of which have had a boost in power and tech as well as a redesigned interior. These two are seen as the pinnacle of VW’s performance range, both boasting over 300PS, uprated brakes and very clever chassis to help get you around those tight bends on a wet day! In other news, Skoda have released their new sporty vRS range for the new year, and Nissan do-up the cabin of the Qashqai for a more luxury feel!
GTI Clubsport
VW have gone a little all-out with the new Clubsport, attempting to add to an already successful model. The exterior can be easily identified with its Clubsport design cues, spoiler, front splitter and diffuser. Inside, the new Clubsport benefits from VW’s digital cockpit and Discover Media System along with ArtVelours seats for a comfortable and connected drive. Starting at around £37k, the new Clubsport Is available to order now!
Golf R
The top of VW’s tree, the new Golf R sets sights on new records for 2021 as it gets a boost in power up to 320PS and 420nm from its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine! It is now VW’s most powerful production car, along with its clever 4Motion all-wheel drive, the new R looks a real competitor! You could even splash out an extra £2k for the performance pack, adding 19” ‘Estoril’ alloy wheels, performance spoiler, raised top speed and a drift-mode!

Skoda Octavia vRS
Skoda’s all-new vRS has been released for the new year and, as with a lot of releases this year, they have their first ever hybrid option! Upgrades to the vRS range include a 15mm reduction in ride hight, sporty chassis, increased fuel injection pressure, collision avoidance system and the debut of their new shift-by-wire tech. This means there is no mechanical connection between gearbox and shifter, it is all through electrical wiring.
Skoda are clearly going for more aesthetic improvements too, with 19” black alloy wheels and red callipers as standard, along with it’s striking grille and front splitter, this car looks the part!

Qashqai Cabin Re-vamp
