SEAT has just released new information on the all-new Leon, the fourth iteration, with over 2.2 million Leon’s sold over its previous three generations, 252,416 of them being sold in the UK.
The new Leon will have some of the latest technology including electrified powertrains and automated safety systems. The first car in the Seat range to be fully connected, Full Link gives the driver Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the Leon can be connected to remotely with Seat Connect where battery charge and electronic air conditioning can be managed. Car2X is another feature which is cloud-based technology which gives real-time updates for traffic lights and accidents on the road ahead.
A range of powertrains are available from petrol (TSI) and diesel (TDI) to mild-hybrid (eTSI) and plug-in hybrid (eHybrid), giving the customer a choice that best suits their needs, offering both efficiency and performance.
The new Leon has safety at its core, the MQB (Modular Quer Baukasten) Evo architecture has a strong safety cell, with the latest driver assistance technology incorporated into it. Features such as Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control and Emergency Assist 3.0, make it the safest SEAT yet.
The wheelbase has been increased which gives an extra 49mm of extra legroom in the rear. The interior has been designed ergonomically giving a comfortable place to be, the amount of physical buttons has been reduced giving a less cluttered appearance, also making the infotainment screen a focal point.
The exterior has been designed to be more aerodynamic, improving efficiency, the drag coefficient has been improved by 8% on the previous model. The LED headlights are now set deeper, the bonnet is slightly longer and A-pillars have been moved back.
