Vauxhall Grandland X Hybrid4 News
Vauxhall’s first plug-in hybrid, the Grandland X Hybrid4, features a powertrain which consists of a 200hp, 1.6-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine combined with two electric motors with a combined output of 109hp with all-wheel drive and a 13.2kWh lithium-ion battery. All together the Grandland X Hybrid4 has a combined output of 300hp. Fuel consumption is 204mpg (WLTP) with only 34g/km of CO2 being produced. 0-60 mph takes 5.9 seconds.
Coming as standard with a 3.7kW onboard charger, a 7.4kW charger can be optioned, fast charging will also be available at public stations and a 7.0kW wallbox for home use, the battery can be charged to 100% in less than two hours. When buying the Grandland X Hybrid4 Vauxhall give the customer a free six-month membership to the Polar charging network, giving easy access to charge while not at home.
The “e-Save” section of the infotainment system allows the driver to set how much of the battery power is reserved to reach the destination while in a zero-emissions zone, choosing between 6 miles, 12 miles or the full battery power. The electric-only range is up to 35 miles and can reach a speed of 84mph under electric power only.
The Grandland X Hybrid4 has four available driving mode; “Hybrid” optimises the fuel economy, using both the combustion engine with the electric motors combined or separately depending on conditions. “Electric” uses the electric motors, powered mainly by the rear motor but the front motor is also used when needed, the combustion engine is engaged briefly when needed too. “All-Wheel Drive” drives the car with all four wheels and can reach 146mph. “Sport” combines both the combustion engine and electric motors to give a dynamic drive, giving the max power of 300hp.
